    Robert has practiced law in Southern California for over 18 years. He has developed substantial expertise in strategic planning, business plan implementation, risk mitigation and restructuring over a 20-year professional career in multiple industries. Robert’s practice focuses on real estate acquisitions and dispositions, entitlements, finance, debt restructuring, collections and litigation. While representing lenders, investors and developers, Robert has negotiated numerous loan and lease restructurings, as well as acquisition and disposition agreements. Robert routinely performs due diligence on behalf of clients, including entitlement reviews and management of the entitlement process.

    Robert also serves as a State Court appointed Receiver in real estate workouts in California and Arizona. He has managed major receivership actions on behalf of banking clients, including working to complete the construction of a $30 million residential condominium development in the Bay Area of California, as well as a tract home development in Orange County.

    Robert has served as in-house counsel to, and a project manager for numerous institutional and corporate clients. On behalf of IDS Realty, a major privately held real estate services company and developer, Robert managed the development of a $35 million, 1.5 million square feet industrial complex in Ontario, California from acquisition through entitlements, construction and leasing. Robert was also part of a management restructuring and served as General Counsel for G.E. Capital – Rescomm, a private telecommunications unit of GE Capital, and facilitated the ultimate sale of that company.

    In addition to his legal practice, Robert is a co-founder and Managing Director of Equassure, Inc. which focuses on advisory and workout services for distressed real estate assets.

    Robert earned his Juris Doctor Degree in 1991 from the UCLA School of Law in Los Angeles, CA and his Bachelor of Science Degree, Cum Laude, in 1986 from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. with a major in Accounting. Robert is a member of the State Bars of California and Massachusetts and admitted to the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals as well as all of the U. S. District Courts in California.
