Pacific Palisades

Pacific Palisades is an affluent neighborhood and district in the Westside. The area currently has about 27,000 residents. It is primarily a residential area, with a mixture of large private homes, small (usually older) houses, condominiums, and apartments. Every Fourth of July, the community’s Chamber of Commerce sponsors day-long events which include 5K and 10K runs, a parade down Sunset Boulevard, and a fireworks display at Palisades High School football field. The district also includes some large parklands and many hiking trails.

Pacific Palisades is one of the most desirable Westside areas in which to own a home. Personal concern over the quality of the community remains high, bolstered by support from homeowners associations and numerous philanthropic and community organizations. Homes in the Palisades are high-end, well landscaped, and often either secluded or with outstanding views. The Palisades and neighboring communities offer residents their choice of many outstanding public and private schools.

Pacific Palisades is home to many popular landmark and destinations such as Will Rogers State Beach, Self Realization Fellowship Lake Shrine, Temescul Canyon Hiking Trails, The Getty Villa, and the fresh Palisades Farmers Market. The Riviera Country Club is situated in the Palisades, and the Brentwood Country Club is to the east, in the neighboring community of Brentwood. The beauty of the Pacific coast is easily accessible to the south and west. The numerous parks in the Northern part of Palisades provide countless hiking, picnicking, and mountain biking opportunities.

Santa Monica to the southeast offers trendy shopping and dining on Montana Avenue, nightlife and shopping along the Third Street Promenade, fishing and weekend dancing on the Santa Monica Pier, and biking and rollerblading along miles of beachfront walkways.

Los Angeles is home to literally thousands of public, charter and private schools. One of the great benefits of having so many schools to choose from is being able to find a school that truly suits your child and your family – whatever your specific needs are. Since different children flourish via different teaching styles, one of Los Angeles’ huge pluses is such a diverse array of schools that celebrate all children. On this page, you will find information on LA’s top-rated public and private schools, complete with ratings/measurements in terms of specifics, including academic performance and equity.

Whether choosing a public, charter or private school, you are sure to find a wide range of options for your beloved child in Los Angeles. And, as the proud father of two amazing children, I am very grateful about this.
